Implementing the 2019-2020 academic year plan, Faculty of International Training (FIT) organized a Review Conference on the 2018-2019 academic year and implemented academic support measures for the 2019-2020 academic year on November 25th. The purpose of the conference is to review the academic and training results of students in the Faculty, thereby offering solutions for students to achieve higher results in the new academic year.

The participants and guests include:

- Representative of Board of Rectors: Assoc. Pr. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector of the University.

- Representative of Student Affairs Department: MA. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Department.

- Regarding the Board of Deans of FIT:

+ Dr. Nguyen Tien Hung: Dean

+ MA. Hoang Thi Tham: Deputy Dean

+ Dr. Vu Quoc Dong: Deputy Dean

- Together with the teachers who are heads of divisions, head teachers, academic advisors of classes and all students in the faculty.

At the beginning of the program, on behalf of the Board of Deans, Deputy Dean Hoang Thi Tham read the review report on the 2018-2019 academic year. According to the report, 237 students are currently attending AP courses, divided into 13 classes. There are many advantages in training such as high quality programs, cooperation training programs with lecturers coming from outstanding foreign universities, many exchanged students from different countries providing international environment to Vietnamese students. On the other hand, there are also some difficulties our students have to face such as local students’ low English level or some foreign students’ limited math solving skills. By the end of 2018-2019 academic year, 20% of students gets grade A (excellent and very good); 20.6% gets grade B (good). However, just 25% of the local students have met 500 TOEFL ITP graduation requirement. Regarding scientific research, 18 students’ scientific research subjects have been approved and implemented in which 6 subjects have been checked and accepted.

In recognition of the students' achievements, 25 students were nominated for encouragement awards in which 10 students had the highest accumulative academic grades in each class, 10 students made the most progress and 5 students had great performance in extracurricular activities in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Following the program, participants listened to Dean Nguyen Tien Hung giving his opinion on the situation of learning, scientific research and training of students in the 2018-2019 academic year and the directions and plans for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Participants also listened to Vice Rector Vu Ngoc Pi sharing with the students in the faculty his experiences in studying and practicing as a learner of foreign languages. These certainly are valuable lessons, adding motivation to the students on the way ahead.

At the end of the conference, there were stories that were probably closer to the students because they came from FIT students themselves. Although some of them had a low starting point, or sometimes lost track of their studies and life, they have made dramatic changes, maybe not yet success, but more importantly, they have overcome themselves. The conference ended with a big round of applause. The conference was very well organized and was a great success with the experiences shared by the teachers that will help students find motivation and effective learning methods. Hopefully, in the coming time, the academic results of the students of FIT will have more positive changes.
